Volunteer Spotlight: David Mannaioni

Jan 12, 2021 | By Jenna McCarthy

Have you ever had to look for a seat in the crowded Worship Center? It can be an intimidating task for anyone. Thankfully, we have people like David Mannaioni, who swoop in and save us from the stress. He belongs to the group of volunteers who usher every week. He says, "serving as an usher is just fun because I get to greet people and help them find a seat when the Worship Center starts to fill up."

"Everyone has been gifted by God to serve His body in some capacity. Just pick a place and get started. You'll either love it and find it rewarding or not. Eventually, see what you're good at and what is personally rewarding." It sounds like Dave is good at helping you find a place to serve as well as a place to sit.

Dave is 59 years young and works as the Dean of Academic Programs at the College for Financial Planning. He also manages a small financial planning practice. When he's not working or finding seats, he likes to travel, hike, golf, and ski, with Sue, his wife of 36 years. Their adult children, Kiersten and Joshua Betterton, and their sweet little grandchildren, Evelyn (4) and Monroe (5 months), also attend BRAVE.

Serving in the church is critical to growing in Dave's faith. In addition to ushering, he leads a small group. He likes serving as a small group leader because he leads and teaches, two things he loves, with a great group of people. He's been a believer for over 40 years, so Dave knows the importance of focusing on helping others by using his God-given talents.
