And he would answer and say to them, “The man who has two tunics is to share with him who has none; and he who has food is to do likewise.” Luke 3:11 (NASB)
For the past six years, BRAVE has been providing Thanksgiving meals to those in need in the Denver Metro area. We partner with Arapahoe Human Services and Outreach, and personally deliver meals to families in need that have applied through their office and our church. Our Westminster campus will be partnering with Adams County Human Services for the first time this year! In addition, we provide meals to anyone in our church community that needs a meal. Last year we delivered over 400 meals to over 300 families. We include a bible and pray over each of the meals delivered. Would you consider helping provide a meal and/or helping deliver meals to families? We will need over 200 volunteers to make this happen! Volunteer opportunities include helping collect food bags between Sunday services, helping on delivery day, and delivering bags to families on November 4th for Englewood and November 11th for Westminster.
To provide a meal, start by downloading the shopping list, obtain all the non-perishable food items for a family of five, and bring the items to the Englewood or Westminster Campus in a box or sturdy bag on any of the collection Sundays:
- October 15
- October 22
- October 29
- November 5 (Westminster Only)
Please do not include any PERISHABLE items (e.g., pies, cakes, cookies, fruit, vegetables, etc.)
As an alternative to contributing an entire Thanksgiving meal, a donation of any of the non-perishable food items on the list and/or a $25-50 gift card to King Soopers or Safeway to purchase a turkey can be dropped off at church on any of the collection Sundays.
